Ron Fisher is an experienced complex civil and probate litigator with extensive trial and appellate experience and an unwavering commitment to his clients. Ron has represented a diverse clientele, including privately held businesses and their founders and investors, high-net worth individuals, government entities, and Fortune 100 companies. Ron has obtained over $90 million in trial judgments for plaintiffs. On the defense side, Ron has obtained multiple successful jury verdicts in both federal and state court. Ron has also secured numerous favorable settlements for both plaintiffs and defendants.
Prior to joining Sideman, Ron clerked at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit before joining the antitrust and competition and complex commercial litigation practices at Latham and Watkins LLP. Ron then practiced as an equity partner at litigation boutique BraunHagey & Borden LLP.
Experience
- Four-week trial in SF Superior defending Sonoma County craft brewer against contract claims asserted by its former distributor seeking millions of dollars; obtained jury verdict awarding plaintiff just $66,000—far less than pretrial settlement offers, thus positioning client to recover fees.
- Obtained a jury verdict and $52 million Sherman and Clayton Act judgment against telescope manufacturers in 6-week antitrust trial; drafted briefing defending judgment in Ninth Circuit appeal. - Litigated probate matter involving trust worth $15 million on behalf of disinherited family members alleging undue influence and self-dealing against trustee; court agreed that trustee had breached their duties and abused the trust and removed trustee. Matter settled shortly thereafter with clients receiving their full inheritance.
- Secured $16 million judgment against insider who engaged in complex fraud on his hedge fund employer in two-week securities fraud arbitration; subsequently obtained order denying fraudster bankruptcy discharge. - In pro bono matter, obtained preliminary injunction enjoining the United States from arresting journalists and legal observers in connection with 2020 protests in Portland, Oregon, and defeated government’s appeal seeking to stay order pending merits appeal.
