SAN FRANCISCO, January 16, 2008 -- Sideman & Bancroft LLP adds Partner Hilary C. Pierce, formerly with the San Francisco office of Bingham McCutchen, to its Tax and Estate Planning practice.
"We have long offered comprehensive trust and estate counseling, and Hilary’s high-level practice is a solid fit with the existing team," said Chairman Richard J. Sideman. "Her professional involvements keep Hilary atop current regulations and trends in preserving and managing her clients’ wealth, and her significant community involvements afford her insight into the latest thinking in philanthropic planning and giving. All add up to provide our exclusive clients with a very well-rounded legal advisor."
Pierce focuses on sophisticated estate planning and administration for individuals and families, as well as counseling clients on a broad range of complex estate planning issues, including gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning; structuring wealth transfers with grantor-retained annuity trusts; irrevocable trusts; family limited partnerships; and limited liability companies. She also has assisted clients with philanthropic planning by creating private foundations, charitable remainder trusts and charitable lead trusts. Prior to Bingham, she practiced with Cooley Godward and with the Boston firm Peckham, Lobel, Casey, Prince & Tye.
